Dr. Deborah Rambo Sinn to present MNTA Webinar

SMTA member Dr. Deborah Rambo Sinn will present an MTNA webinar on Friday, July 19 from 9 AM to 10 AM PDT. The topic, What Lies Beneath, is about bass lines. Discovering what notes are truly important in the left hand can be transformational. Sometimes, it is clear what notes stand out, but most of the time, we performers and teachers need to take time to choose the fenceposts that will support and clarify the entire texture and rhythmic impulse. For Deborah Rambo Sinn, NCTM, this is one of the most magical moments of interpretation.
Deborah Rambo Sinn, NCTM, holds a doctorate degree from Indiana University, where she studied with Menahem Pressler. Currently, she teaches piano and entrepreneurial courses at Gonzaga University and works with piano teachers from across the country through the Underground Conservatory. This summer, she is serving as the music director and Keys 1 for Smokey Joe’s Cafe. Sinn is the author of Playing Beyond the Notes: A Pianist’s Guide to Musical Interpretation, published by Oxford University Press in 2013.
